Director

With over 22 years in the property and development world, Matt brings a level of experience that’s hard to top. Some say Matt can sniff out a cost overrun faster than a spreadsheet can refresh. As a Director within the Haus group of companies, he’s built a reputation for delivering successful outcomes across commercial, industrial, and residential projects—thanks to a sharp eye for detail and an instinct for what makes a project run smoothly (and profitably).

Starting out in Quantity Surveying and moving into senior roles in Commercial and Project Management, Matt has led individual projects worth up to $100 million and been involved in developments totalling more than $750 million. He’s the steady hand when things get complicated, the guy who can tame a runaway budget, and the one you want nearby when things go sideways (which they do, usually right after someone says “it’ll be simple”).

Matt holds a Bachelor of Construction Economics and has been recognised with awards such as the NZIOB Best Academic Performance Award (2006) and the NZIOB Excellence Award (2010). But for Matt, the real measure of success is delivering projects that run well, finish strong, and leave clients coming back.

Luke Henley

Construction Manager & Director

With more than 25 years in the building industry, Luke is a steady force behind Henley & Haus. As Construction Manager and Director, he brings deep industry knowledge, strong leadership, and an uncanny ability to keep even the trickiest projects moving forward—rain, shine, or last-minute client curveball.

Luke has overseen everything from large-scale industrial builds to high-spec residential homes and polished commercial spaces. No matter the scale, his commitment to quality, safety, and delivery never wavers. He’s hands-on by nature, building strong relationships on site and with clients alike—and making sure the end result reflects both vision and craftsmanship.

Some say Luke’s the secret sauce behind Henley & Haus’ growth. Others say it’s just really good planning (and possibly his well-timed site banter). Either way, the results speak for themselves.

Toby Baldwin

Site Manager

Toby grew up around construction and hasn’t looked back since (except maybe to check the plans one more time). Armed with a Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management and solid experience across infill housing, renovations, architectural builds, and commercial office projects, Toby brings both technical knowledge and on-the-ground know-how to every site he runs.

He’s known for his practical approach, a steady hand under pressure, and a strong grip on the project trifecta: cost, quality, and time. Whether it’s troubleshooting on the fly or keeping the team focused on the finish line, Toby’s the kind of Site Manager who keeps things moving—and makes it look easier than it is.

Driven, adaptable, and quietly ambitious, Toby is building a career in project and development management—one well-run site at a time.

Mackenzie Turner

Contract Administrator

Mackenzie joined the Haus Projects team at the start of the year and has been quietly making herself indispensable ever since. Working across our project management, construction, and development businesses, she handles subcontract procurement, contracts, claims, and payments with calm efficiency—even when the spreadsheets (or the clients) start getting complicated.

Armed with a Bachelor of Commerce in Property from the University of Auckland—where she graduated in the top 10% of her class—Mackenzie brings both sharp thinking and serious follow-through to every project. She also takes the lead on preparing polished, professional proposal documents that help us secure work and clearly communicate what we do best.

Whether she’s wrangling subcontractors, decoding spreadsheets, or navigating the occasional high-maintenance developer, Mackenzie handles it all with quiet precision and the kind of dry humour that keeps the rest of us grounded.
